Petzl MAESTRO Descender

The Petzl MAESTRO is a descender with an integrated progress-capture pulley, built for technical rescue and heavy-load lowering and hauling. One device handles both jobs: you can switch from lowering to hauling right away without transferring the load, and it can be used in a single or twin primary system or as a backup belay.

The ergonomic handle and integrated brake give a controlled, comfortable descent. The AUTO-LOCK system locks the rope automatically when the handle is released, and once locked you can take up rope without touching the handle. The large faceted sheave runs on sealed ball bearings and turns in only one direction, giving efficient hauling and extra friction when lowering. Markings on the body make rope installation easy, the lower connection point lets you build different haul systems, and a hole in the handle accepts a remote-control cord.
